Description of the sport

The Canarian Wrestling is a sport where you try to make your opponent touch the floor with whatever part of the body excepting the sole. When you try to throw down your opponent, you use holds, called "mañas".

Equipment

The equipment of the Canarian Wrestling is very simple. Is called "Ropa de brega" and is just a t-shirt tucked in a rolled up short. The shirt can only have the name of the club, some publicity and the badge of the Federation.

When can we practice it?

You can practise the Canarian Wrestling during the hole year, because is a sport practised indoor. The league is controlated by the Federation, who gives the referees for the matchs and controls all the rules during the competition.

Where can we practice it?

We can practise Canarian Wrestling in the sand of the beach, in a zone where the land is not too hard and in a "tatami" floor. The Canarian Wrestling is directed by a Federation, so if you want to practise this sport you can contact with local teams. In my zone (Las Galletas), the nearest team is the Chijafe fighting club, who has fields in Cabo Blanco and Valle San Lorenzo (Arona). 4
